Our driver picks you up from the airport or railway station and transfers you to your hotel. Once at your lodging, take rest and have a hearty breakfast. After this, we will start with an exciting tour of Dehradun. We first visit the famous ‘Tapkeshwar Mandir’ which is about 6 km from the city. Lying on the bank of River Asan, this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. You can also explore the ‘Drona Cave’ here where the main Shiva Linga of the temple is situated. This Shiva Linga is washed by the water drops that trickle down from the ceiling of the cave. Hence it is called ‘tapak’ (to drop). Explore the natural cool spring waters nearby or take a dip if you wish as they are rich in sulphur and have healing properties. From here, we head to another popular attraction, the ‘Robber’s Cave’ which is also called Gachhupani (6.9 km). Here you can observe a natural phenomenon of a river flowing inside the very cave. You can witness this waterfall of about 10 m. Again, you can also witness a strange phenomenon where the stream of water suddenly disappears only to appear again a few metres away. It is also deemed as a popular picnic spot. We will grab a quick lunch. Post lunch, we will visit the ‘Forest Research Institute.’ It has a wonderful Himalayan backdrop and impressive structure. Head back to hotel by late evening.
